PROBLEM

Meetings can often be time-sinks, whether because of irrelevant agenda items or lip-service consultations. A direct lack of agency or efficient collaboration resulting in lack of confidence in achieving skillful consensus. Ratings are impersonal, unseen by people who matter to us, and market research is laborious.

  • Lack of agency and faith in consensus
  • Ratings are impersonal
  • Market research is too slow
  • No incentive to contribute

CHALLENGES

Show that providing intentions for a meeting actually influences the agenda, process and outcome of meetings. Provide incentive for users to provide feedback, whether market research or direct, live feedback for a product or service or experience. Show that evaluating and writing a mini-review is actually useful to others. Overcome lack of confidence in achieving skillful consensus through direct agency and a conversation of action.

We add our intentions and ratings so that we can view our colleagues and friends values at a glance.

Are we correct in sharing something we value with a friend or colleague? We would like to know whether our intentions and ratings are the same or not.

Personal Values

We individually evaluate according to our perception and our personal values. We simply generate a number (1-10) to indicate how strongly we feel about something, a meeting, article, music track, film. By providing this numerical evaluation, we underwrite the biases which are tied up with word-based approaches. This creates a social accounting system.

The Influence of Intention

Ratings are for things which are finished and is just informative. Attributing a value to a future objective is indicating not only our internal state, but influences how we feel or think about achieving that objective. Viewing teammates intention, motivation or enthusiasm for a joint project can help us ascertain who is leading and who needs help.

Word Rich

The value (1-10) is immediately informative, while the accompanying comment can provide richness. For intention, it can provide insight into the same mutual objective, be used as an item for an agenda or text for a mission statement. Accepting different perspectives provides a rich social environment.
